This Privacy Policy explains what information Chords.me ("Chords.me", "we", "us") collects when you visit chords.me, how that information is used, and the choices available to you. By using our site, you agree to the practices described here.
Our tools -- the chord transposer, capo calculator, PDF generator, tap tempo finder, and guitar tuner -- are designed to run client-side in your browser. Chord sheets you paste in and tap timings are processed locally on your device and are not uploaded to or stored on our servers. The guitar tuner does not access your microphone.
We use a minimal set of cookies and similar technologies to remember basic preferences, such as your light/dark theme choice, and to support the functionality described below. Cookies used for analytics or advertising (where applicable) are described in the relevant sections. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some site features may not work correctly without them.
We may use privacy-conscious analytics services to understand aggregate, anonymized information such as which pages are visited, which tools are used most, and general device or browser type. This data helps us decide which tools to improve or build next. Analytics data is not linked to your identity and is not sold to third parties.
Chords.me does not currently display advertising. We may introduce ads in the future, including through providers such as Google AdSense, to help keep every tool on this site free. If we do, this policy will be updated to describe which ad-serving and personalization technologies are in use, and third-party vendors -- including Google -- may use cookies to serve ads based on a visitor's prior visits to this and other websites. You will be able to opt out of personalized advertising through Google's Ads Settings or via aboutads.info.
Our site may rely on third-party infrastructure providers for hosting, content delivery, and font loading. These providers may log standard technical information, such as IP address and request timestamps, as part of normal server operation. We do not control these providers' independent data practices and encourage you to review their own privacy policies where relevant.
Chords.me is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
You can use most of Chords.me's tools without providing any personal information at all. If you contact us by email, we will only use the information you send us to respond to your message. You may request that we delete any correspondence we hold by emailing us using the address below.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example as we introduce new tools, analytics, or advertising. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
